“Finnish saunas in beautiful New England.” Skog & Stone is a new mobile wood-fired sauna company.
The founder identified an opportunity after his many visits to the Nordics and experiencing the sauna culture there. With saunas, they enjoyed the outdoors year round. Why couldn’t that be the case in New England, too?
They tapped me to develop their branding and identity. Their inspiration was the Nordics, so then, mine was too.
I started with a chunky, seriffed font that felt ornamental and Nordic. I then manipulated it to accentuate the flow of the letters into each other, as well as the top row from the bottom row. It’s smooth and liquid, which is very appropriate for this business.
I also developed a secondary logo utilizing just the initials, but keeping with the smooth liquidity of the main logo.
