Scrapped Zine Art

I think most creatives have constant fits and starts. I do. This work fits into that category.

I was wanting to create a zine for a long time that combined a couple things I’m still obsessed with: 80s/90s music and the sports stars of that same era. Stretching that idea into a full concept never quite happened, but as I was trying to figure it out, I created several pieces that would be included. These are they.

Bo Jackson; Andre Rison and Left Eye from TLC combined with Unbroken; Ian Mackeye and Chuck D getting the baseball card treatment (‘87 Topps and ‘87 Fleer, respectively); a commemoration of one the best dunk contests ever with Dee Brown and Shawn Kemp; and a good ol’ Converge spread of a photograph I took probably in 1995. Some of these may become shirts someday.

Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
